Internic Security Announcement - Possible Bogus Emails
Dear Internic Customers,
We have recently become aware that some customers are receiving emails appearing to come directly from Internic or possibly purporting to come from an agent of ours with information regarding their .uk domains. These emails are apparently asking customers to change the IPS tag of their .uk domain from ‘INTERNIC’ to ‘ENOM’ in order that their domain name can be renewed. Unless you have specifically asked us via our ticketing system for this change to be made, there is absolutely no need to change the IPS tag in order to keep and or renew your domain with us.
If you do receive an unsolicited email asking you to make this change, we would ask that you:
1. Firstly, do not act on any such email requests are they are likely to be bogus. 2. Raise a support ticket or send us an email to support@internic.co.uk and give us as much information as you can to allow us to investigate further for you. We will investigate each and every case that is raised, ensuring that we can continue to provide you with a safe and secure service. 3. Log into your internic account using the ‘customer login’ link on our site and then navigate to the ‘My Support Tickets’ link. If there is not an email / ticket that matches the change request email, you can be assured that this email is unofficial and therefore should not be acted upon.
This email is being sent to all Internic customers as part of our continued efforts to maintain the highest levels of security and service. If you are at all concerned about the validity of this email, you should visit our website www.internic.co.uk , navigate to the announcements section where you will find a copy of this email. All official customer announcements from Internic will have a corresponding entry in the Support Centre and you should use this if you are at all uncertain or concerned.
Finally, If your domain is coming up for renewal and you want to process that now, we suggest you log into your Internic Control Panel, click 'My Domains' and renew from there. The process is very straight forward and should only take a few minutes of your time. If you need any more help with this, please raise a support ticket via our website and we will be happy to help you.
We're sorry if this situation causes you any inconvenience or concern and feel free to contact us if you wish to discuss further.
Regards,
Internic Support
